It is not a very good flyer and mainly moves around at ground level. It is most often seen in small flocks of 7 to 15 birds. It is frequently observed following pigs and picking up the fruit they have left behind after tearing it apart—fruit that the bird would be unable to eat whole. The male attracts his mate with a “rul-rul” call.
